Bllog#13 Andy warhol

http://hauteconcept.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/andy-warhol-campbell_soup-can-121207-1.jpg

This picture is by Andy Warhol is called "Campbell's Soup". I like this picture because it is big and it stands out with the bright red colour and it has a lot of deal on it. This is a logol for a soup company and he used this logol as art, and many people wanted it for alot of money. This style of art is pop art and i really enjoy looking at pop art. When i think of The painting it gives me the image of Andy Warhold name and that is a good way of having people to remember his work. Therefore I like this art becuase it reminds me of Warhol and his new style of art in the 1900's.

Cubism is a style of art created in the 1920’s buy two famous painters Pablo Picasso and George Braque.Cubism is a type of art that shows movement through time and instead of painting someone stiff, the artist paints them to were they looked like they were moving. What they do is that they brake down the object persons body or thing into geometric shapes. Not just one geometric shape, but many different shapes, that can make the face look like it has two faces added on.

Blog#11 (Spaghetti story)

The BBC receives a mixed reaction to a spoof documentary about spaghetti crops in Switzerland.
First broadcast 1 April 1957 and was getting people to believe that pasta was actually growing on tree's which even convinced me for a few seconds. This joke, narrated by distinguished broadcaster Richard Dimbleby, featured a family in Switzerland carrying out their annual spaghetti harvest for food in old fastion, black/white colour video. The voice used in the video sounds like a old british man is speeking in proper language. The theme makes it even more believable to the viewers with the country and farmers clothes. the wording was good and convincing as well when he says that Italians make the best. Therefore, the april fools was a success.

Blog#10 Marshall McLuhan

Marshall is an interesting man, he says that,
"After three thousand years of explosion, by means of fragmentary and mechanical technologies, the Western world is imploding. During the mechanical ages we had extended our bodies in space. Today, after more than a century of electric technology, we have extended our central nervous system itself in a global embrace, abolishing both space and time as far as our planet is concerned. Rapidly, we approach the final phase of the extensions of man - the technological simulation of consciousness, when the creative process of knowing will be collectively and corporately extended to the whole of human society, much as we have already extended our senses and our nerves by the various media."Marshall McLuhan - Understanding Media (1964).
Interesting facts about Mcluhan would be that he Canadian educator, philosopher and a scholar of english literature for people. He studied media ecology and uses a word from his saying that "the medium is the message." H ewrote books explaining how to use medium to media. McLuhan contrasted this with TV, which he claimed requires more effort on the part of viewer to determine meaning. He is trying to undrstand media. And he is a great influence to people in Canada today.

Blog#7 Video games

http://www.gametab.com/images/ss/gcn/2705/box-l.jpg

Zelda Twilight Princess:

This Fantacy action pack game is filled with adventure and stories of fun for teenagers. The animation is very effective as well with 3-D form and no flat characters involved. The game is about a young man named link (elf), he is the "one" who has to save a princess named "zelda". It is only up too you on how you want to end the story with a happy or sad ending. Twilight Princess contains the same expertly designed puzzles and gameplay that you've come to expect, though parts of its presentation feel stuck in the past. Playing this game has excitement of it, example, turning yourself into a wolf or riding a horse in the game creates a good effect.

Blog #6 Photo i like

The photo is called "The Legend Lives On" and the person in the picture is named Lubbock cowboy and his horse in front of a spectacular West Texas sunset.

Critique:
Response: how i feel about this photo is longing to go to the ranch where i volunteer every weekend and a relationship between to befriends, working hard to gain better trust. The sunset ends a long days work and they spend there time together.
I see shadows of a horse on his two back leggs facing the cow boy, who is throwing around his lasso towards the horse. The back ground in of a sunset with the colours of pink, orange and light blue/purple. The title of the photo is "the legend lives on" down by an unknkown photographer but,
JOE GULICK AVALANCHE wrote an article about the picture and the picture was done with colour in the background. That this picture was tooken in texas and somewhere in the middle of a feild. This is a very powerful shot and has alot of meaning to what horsemanship means in a cowboys life. If I were in the picture i would love to in the cowboys position and experience what the cowboy is feeling/seeing.
The photo shows beauty, power, strength and spirit in a world. This photographer could of made this photo to show the wild side of texas and that a cowboy is just not a name but a role/responsability of being a rancher, that you need commitment. Yes the title does match the image (the legend lives on) because, even though the day has end tomorrow will bring a new day of work and creating a new story of excitement with his horse, like the movie "Eragon".

The picture is balanced with the horse and the cowboy and this picture i really realistic.
This photo interests me with the feeling of freedom with you and your horse.

Blog#5 banksy

The artist Banksy, born in 1976, well-known English graffiti artist from Bristol and his artwork is often political and/or humorous in nature, in the streets of london. Example of an art work would be "Are You Using That Chair?"Banksy, 2005. and his art deals with topics from politics, culture, and ethics. His street art, which combines graffiti with a typical stencilling technique, has appeared in London and in cities around the world of all countries. His purpose of art was created during the time of the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s, which gave him idea's to start creating these pieces. I think his work is interesting in some ways, that he uses proportion and colour to express his feelings during that time.

The world is changing, like the clouds, plants and etc because of us we create global warming, if not taken care of.

Blog #3

This topic is about a painting that I have chosen for my liking and subject, called "Neslon the Mustang", by Terry Lindsey. This image reminds me of the ranch where i volunteer every weekend a horse named Johnny that i ride for lessons. Terry is trying to express the horses feeling and how it is investigating the area, it saying "what is that?". She must of had a horse that looked like hers and wants to have her friend the way it is right now, like taking a picture. This painting interests me and the texture of the makes the horse real like (fur).

Blog #2

The zen-car is a car that is operated only by electrisity and is enviormental friendly. I think I would agree on the Zen car because it keeps the air clear and the cost is very cheap. sometimes people can't really afford cars but the zen is safe plus cheap as well (1400 pounds). 8 hours charge is all it needs and you don't need too change the batter that often. The european created the zen car and the quality is awsome, even for me. This Car would not do too good in accidents and really bad weather as well.
