The BBC receives a mixed reaction to a spoof documentary about spaghetti crops in Switzerland.
First broadcast 1 April 1957 and was getting people to believe that pasta was actually growing on tree's which even convinced me for a few seconds. This joke, narrated by distinguished broadcaster Richard Dimbleby, featured a family in Switzerland carrying out their annual spaghetti harvest for food in old fastion, black/white colour video. The voice used in the video sounds like a old british man is speeking in proper language. The theme makes it even more believable to the viewers with the country and farmers clothes. the wording was good and convincing as well when he says that Italians make the best. Therefore, the april fools was a success.
